Faith, Hope & Charity’s residential facility is a licensed
32-bed ICF/MR (Intermediate Care Facility/Mental Retardation) located
in Storm Lake, Iowa. Our purpose is to work with families by providing
a nurturing and learning environment for the child who would benefit from
our residential services. Our facility features four individual homes
designed with children in mind. Each home, Faith, Hope, Charity and Love,
consists of four bedrooms, a living room, large eat-in kitchen, two large
bathrooms, office, medical room, and a fenced in backyard.
A total of eight children live in each of the four homes, with two children
in each bedroom. The bedrooms are divided with a large bookcase/dresser
unit to provide each child with privacy and a place for their favorite
things. The eight children living in each home vary in ages and abilities.
The homes are accessed through a large multipurpose room, which serves
as an indoor playground for the children we serve. The multipurpose room
(MPR) is a favorite hang out for many of the children we serve. With a
variety of activities and play areas to choose from, the children can
spend an entire afternoon playing to their hearts delight. There is an
indoor swing, ball pit, piano, large climbing blocks, tricycles, mini
merry-go-round, dress up clothes, disco ball, wagons, and many other toys
to provide for a day of fun.
Up the hall from the MPR is the other half of the residential facility.
In this area, we have administration offices, the nursing office, meeting
room, family lounge, kitchen, laundry facilities, maintenance office,
staff lounge and restrooms.
