Respite Care

Respite care is designed to give caregivers a well-deserved break. Unlike a typical sitter, respite care providers are trained professionals who understand the needs of children and their families. Respite care services are used in hour increments. We provide these services in the family home, in the provider’s home or at our weekend respite care site. Unique to this region of Iowa is our weekend respite care program. The families bring their children to our Community Services Center Friday evening and return Sunday to take their child home again. Some families use partial weekends as well. Respite care services are also scheduled per the family’s request.

We are grateful for having Faith, Hope & Charity. It's a place where my daughter has learned that she is not alone with her disability. They have helped her develop social skills that we as parents just can't teach her due to her disability. They are great at work and outside of it. She sees the staff in the stores and they know her. They call her by name and treat her like a person. There is not enough thanks for FHC and the people who work there.

We use the respite services for our daughter Abby through Faith, Hope & Charity. The respite weekends provide a fun and safe environment for her. She has friends to play with and a variety of activities to participate in. We can relax knowing she is at such a caring place.
