Respite Weekends

On Respite Weekends, which are twice a month, families bring their special needs child on Friday evening to enjoy an entire weekend with other children and special activities. Some families describe the Respite Weekends as a “super slumber party” or “mini-camp” and many of the children wish Sunday evening didn’t arrive so quickly. The old saying “time flies when you’re having fun” certainly applies to the Respite Weekends at Faith, Hope & Charity.

Respite weekends are held in our new Community Services Center, which is located just east of our Residential facility.

We are grateful for having Faith, Hope & Charity. It's a place where my daughter has learned that she is not alone with her disability. They have helped her develop social skills that we as parents just can't teach her due to her disability. They are great at work and outside of it. She sees the staff in the stores and they know her. They call her by name and treat her like a person. There is not enough thanks for FHC and the people who work there.
